The Coen bros court Timberlake for next project

Don’t count on Justin Timberlake heading back to the recording studio any time soon. Word on the street is the Coen brothers have him firmly in their sights for a lead role in upcoming project Inside Llweyn Davis.

The movie is set in 1960s Greenwich Village, New York. It tracks the struggles of the title character (Oscar Isaac), a talented folk musician who can’t seem to get a proper toehold.

If Timberlake accepts a role, he will play fellow musician Jim, who’s married to Jean (aka Carey Mulligan, who’s defo locked in to the film).

Isaac’s character is loosely based on singer/songwriter Dave Van Ronk, who was mates with Bob Dylan back in the day.

Filming is due to start in New York early-2012.
