FTRC Loves…Dakota Fanning
Now Is Good is out this week! And as it stars one of our fave teenagers ever (the Dakota Fanning of the title), we thought we’d talk some about why we heart her.
• Real first name is Hannah. Sister Elle’s is Mary.
• Is nicknamed Kota.
• Learned to read aged 2.
• After starring in I Am Sam Dakota became the youngest SAG nominee ever, aged eight.
• Loves to knit and has knitted scarves for Tom Cruise, Robert De Niro, Denzel Washington, Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg and Tim Robbins. We’re sure ours is in the post.
• Was obsessed with babies as a child and carried a book of baby names everywhere. Kind of odd, no?
• During the shooting of War of the Worlds, Tom Cruise gave her a mobile AND an iPod. Some girls have all the luck…
• Became the youngest member of AMPAS in 2006, aged 11.
• Was 10 when production began on Coraline, but 15 when the movie was eventually released.
• Played Cherie Currie in The Runaways. She is Currie’s fave actress like, ever, so that was pretty lucky.
