Did we tell you about that time we met Philip Seymour Hoffman? No? Well it was at the Ides of March premiere and we officially love him more than Clooney. Anyway we promise to give you all the goss from that strange and surreal sojourn tomorrow, but in the meantime here’s a little insight into Hoffman and his directorial debut…
Check out this recent, lengthy and indepth interview with Hoffman in which he discusses his parents, being a parent himself, going into rehab for alcoholism, the end of the ‘leading man’, fear, romantic relationships and of course the many roles he’s played throughout his career.
But onto his movie Jack Goes Boating. The first trailer was released over a year ago but at last it’s getting a release on November 4. The strapline runs thus: “A limo driver’s blind date sparks a tale of love, betrayal, friendship, and grace centered around two working-class New York City couples.”
It’s got moving indie movie written all over it! (Nice use of the Fleet Foxes song ‘White Winter Hymnal’ towards the end.)
Who was your best dressed on the red carpet this week? We’re for Camilla Belle in her inky, art deco-inspired gown. Dunno what films she is in but she looks fine!
Fresh from the news that Justin Timberlake has been offered a par in the Coen Brothers’ new film, he’s back with the History of Rap Part 3.
A look inside the Columbia University panel discussion with Johnny Depp and Rum Diary director Bruce Robinson. They discuss Hunter S Thompson and taking the novel (written when the author was 20) and adapting it for the big screen
No doubt you’ve seen Rooney Mara looking stunning and elegant and so unlike her character in Girl with the Dragon Tatoo in ‘Vogue’, but here’s the behind the scenes video. She discusses getting the role, the physical transformation, the piercings and people’s reactions to her new look.
She comes across as so down to earth. So excited for this movie!
Are you excited about Immortals?
The action fantasy flick (out November 11) certainly boasts a stellar cast Freida Pinto, Kellan Lutz, Isabel Lucas, Mickey Rourke, John Hurt, Stephen Dorff, the list goes on.
And here’s the official trailer for good measure:
In case you missed it, here’s all the behind the scenes goss and pics from the Johnny English Reborn premiere.

We’re DJing the Guilty Pleasures night at Koko in London, spinning upstairs in the ’90s room. And in fact we’re dressing up as characters from one of our favourite ’90s movies – but zombie versions. We’ll tweet pics later.
