For the ladies who’ve checked out ‘Kick-Ass’, isn’t it a wee bit satisfying watching the 11-year-old Hit Girl (played by Chloe Moretz) show the blokes how it’s done?
But potty-mouthed Moretz isn’t the only female in film holding her own in 2010…
‘The Hurtlocker’s’ Kathyrn Bigelow has paved the way for aspiring female directors the world over. She was rewarded for her efforts when she won a golden statue at this year’s Academy Awards – the first female to do so in its 82-year history.
Before making the scoop, Bigelow said: “If there’s specific resistance to women making movies I just choose to ignore it for two reasons: I can’t change my gender, and I refuse to stop making movies.”
From one independent female to four, what woman isn’t eagerly awaiting Sex And the City 2? Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte return to the big screen late May, and are as close as ever despite the men, babies and work.
It gets better: the fate of Sex and The City 3 is in our hands!
When we spoke to Kristin Davis (Charlotte) about the prospect of a ‘Sex and The City 3′ she said: “It depends how this one does, the reason there’s the second one is because the fans were so supportive.”
Personally, we’re all for those ladies being minxy even when they’re pushing around zimmer frames. Sex And The Senior City-Zen, p’haps?
