First clip from Battleship
If your first thought when you heard about the board game Battleship being turned into a movie was ‘That sounds like a load of poop’, you weren’t alone.
But colour us red! As more and more trailers, posters, and featurettes have been released, wouldn’t you know it we’ve only gone and gotten totally won over.
For starters, the cast is fabby – Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgård (nom nom), Liam Neeson, Brooklyn Decker, and Josh Pence. Plus some bird called Rihanna – perhaps you’ve heard of her?
Then there’s the crash-wallop-pow special effects. Yes, yes that is their official name.
Out in the UK from tomorrow, here’s a taste of what you can expect:
“Peter Berg (Hancock) produces and directs… an epic action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. Based on Hasbro’s classic naval combat game, Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch as Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam, a physical therapist and Hopper’s fiancée; Alexander Skarsgård as Hopper’s older brother, Commanding Officer Stone of the USS Samson; Rihanna as Lt. Raikes, Hopper’s crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone’s superior (and Sam’s father), Admiral Shane.”
